Just down the road is Malaga, one of Europe’s oldest cities and Picasso’s birthplace, because clearly you needed another reason to be excited.

Getting around

Mijas is just a 25-minute drive from Málaga Airport (AGP), so you’ll go from baggage claim to your beach drink in no time.

• By Car – Best way to get around! Rent one if you fancy exploring, windows down, music up.
• By Train – Take the Cercanías C1 train from the airport or Málaga city to Fuengirola. From there, grab a taxi or local bus to anywhere.
• Taxi or Private Transfer – Classic airport taxi? Done. Uber and Bolt also work and are recommended for shorter distances.
